Week 2- Velvet Revolver

"Hello George,
We both seem to find Velvet Underground a bit weird. I find that a little humorous because we both enjoy some good Dubstep, which many people can also be considered weird or strange. I mean most of the time, there aren’t even lyrics. This small article on Velvet Revolver has quite a bit of information that would make me want to listen to them, if I hadn’t already done so. I do appreciate their difference though and believe that it shows us that music doesn’t necessarily have to follow any special guidelines beyond the foundation and that as long as you are on the foundation you can build and bend music anyway you want to."

Week 4- Independent Research

"Hey George,

It’s interesting as I read your post where bands the lyrics are created and then music. I have to say it seems with a lot of Hip-Hop and R&B, and with some Pop acts, the music is created by the producer in the studio and then the artists says “That’s fire!!” and pics up a note pad and starts writing the lyrics down or they listen to the music and the lyrics just some to them. Although we may all create lyrics with the intent of having certain music put behind them, we sometimes end up making changes to the lyrics so they fit within the current rhythmic pattern. I don’t think I have heard of Underworld until now and when I saw Hyde I thought of the J-Rock group L’arc en ciel. I will check them out though so I can also have more insight into writing music."
